It comes a week after its owner, Stuff, made a public apology for its racist reporting of Māori issues over the past 160 years and committed to do better in the future.

Yesterday, the Dominion Post published a Letter to the Editor from an Island Bay resident which criticised the media network for jumping the shark with what they called 'the Māori reporting mea culpa.'

The person then goes on to say - that Māori were overwhelmed by a stronger race, and also talks about the absorption of Māori by the Europeans, comparing it to the destruction of Moriori by Māori - which is a myth.

The editor of the Dominion Post, Anna Fifield, spoke to Māni Dunlop.
