The police say they are seeing a reduction in crime in the Ōtara town centre, driven by good relationships and programmes in partnership with the community.
Ōtara saw a spate of shootings last month, which led to an order for officers to temporarily carry firearms.
Arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
