The number of children living in poverty is expected to rise sharply, because of the impact of Covid-19.
The just-released briefing to the Minister for Child Poverty Reduction says the economic downturn means child poverty will increase across the various measures - with material hardship rates expected to rise strongly.
It says prior to the pandemic, the government was broadly on track to meet its child poverty reduction targets.
