Lack of Maori focus in housing plan

From Midday Report, 12:42 pm on 23 March 2021

An independent Māori Housing body says there is a need for more investment into papakainga and Māori-led housing developments. In the housing plan announced today - the only mention of Māori is that a specifically targeted package is being developed for Budget 2021. Te Matapihi's general manager, Wayne Knox, has been giving evidence at the Waitangi Tribunal hearing on how the Crown's housing policy and services have perpetuated Māori homelessness. Mr Knox speaks to Māni Dunlop about today's proposal.
