PSA says Finance Minister is being disingenuous on pay freeze

From Midday Report, 12:11 pm on 10 May 2021

Finance Minister Grant Robertson is insisting the Government's announcement on public sector pay does not amount to a pay freeze. Last week it was announced public servants earning between $60,000-$100,000 would get pay rises only in select circumstances over the next three years. This morning, Robertson said reports of a pay freeze were incorrect, as public servants -- such as teachers, nurses and police officers -- would continue to earn more as they move through pay bands, and through collective bargaining. But the Public Services Association National Secretary Erin Polaczuk told Midday Report's Meriana Johnsen that was disingenuous.
