Govt open to bringing buses back into public ownership

The Government's open to bringing buses and associated infrastructure back into public ownership. That comes as the Wellington Regional Council has slammed the current bus contracting model, saying it's been a race to the bottom for driver wages and conditions. The Public Transport Operating Model, introduced in 2013, is currently up for consultation with submissions closing on Friday. The Transport Minister Michael Wood told Perlina Lau he was keeping an open mind about any changes to the model.
