Laurel Hubbard will make history for New Zealand when she becomes the first ever transgender athlete to compete at the Olympics. She's been named in the New Zealand weightlifting team as part of a five-strong contingent going to Tokyo. The NZ Olympic Committee's chief executive Kereyn Smith acknowledges that gender identity in sport is a highly sensitive and complex issue requiring a balance between human rights and fairness on the field of play.
