Strong stance urged against 'insulting... racist' Hurricanes board member
The Hurricanes are being urged to take a stronger stance against one of its directors at a board meeting today. Comments by Troy Bowker, who holds a minority share in the team, have been described as insulting and racist. Bowker has now doubled down on his initial comments in reply to an online post by animator Sir Ian Taylor which said New Zealand excelled on the water at the Olympics due to "our ancestral DNA" and features an image of a waka, Mr Bowker said Sir Ian was "sucking up to the left Maori loving agenda". Māni Dunlop spoke to Honey Hireme who's a former player and prominent commentator about her take and what she thinks the franchise need to do.
