The National Party wants to ditch the elimination approach to Covid-19, and switch to a 'vigorous suppression' strategy instead.
This morning, the Party laid out a three stage proposal for dealing with the virus, starting with supercharging vaccinations and bolstering the health system; the second stage involves stopping lockdowns when 75 percent of those people aged 12 and older are double-dose vaccinated; and the third, re-opening the borders when that vaccination rate reaches 85 percent.
The party's leader Judith Collins speaks to Māni Dunlop.
