Government to create redress system for survivors of abuse

From Midday Report, 12:10 pm on 15 December 2021

The Government will create a new, independent redress system for survivors of abuse in state care and faith-based institutions.

It will be developed in collaboration with survivors, Maori, Pasifika and people with disabilities.

It comes as the Government publicly releases the Royal Commission of Inquiry into Historic Abuse in Care's interim report into redress.

RNZ political reporter Katie Scotcher talks to Māni Dunlop.
