Middlemore Hospital Chief Medical Officer on Omicron struggles

Doctors are being forced to step into nursing roles to fill gaps as Omicron cases wipe out staffing capabilities at Middlemore Hospital.

Doctors and medical technicians are helping with patient care in ED and on some of the wards.

That is on top of their normal duties, with 195 people in the south Auckland hospital with Covid-19 yesterday.
