The police are touting the success of a zero-tolerance approach they took to illegal street racing around Hamilton last weekend.
Police deployed 50 staff before about 500 vehicles arrived.
200 infringement notices were issued and nine cars impounded.
Hamilton's mayor Paula Southgate, told Māni Dunlop it was a reminder there were no safe places for young car enthusiasts to hang out together.
