About 80 people in Levin are still out of their homes today, as the police continue to negotiate with a man involved in a self-harm-related incident.
Bledisloe Street residents have told RNZ there may have been a bomb threat but this has not been confirmed by police.
The mayor Bernie Wanden declined to talk until police can de-escalate the situation.
