Primary health nurses rally for pay equity with counterparts

From Midday Report, 12:43 pm on 29 August 2022

Primary health nurses are rallying on the streets today, asking to be paid the same as their counterparts in hospitals.

Primary healthcare nurses work at General Practices, after-hours emergency centres, Plunket, Māori and iwi health providers, Urgent Care and Family Planning.

They said they were being treated as second class, they're paid up to 25-percent less despite having the same qualifications, training and responsibilities.

Auckland youth health nurse Mikey Brenndorfer spoke to Charlotte Cook.
