Dozens of residents evacuated in Hastings after heavy rain

In Hawke's Bay, a state of emergency remains in force in the coastal settlement of Haumoana, east of Hastings. Dozens of residents were evacuated in the early hours of the morning as heavy swells broke through sea walls, threatening homes.
