Hundreds of people who made a pilgrimage to Awaroa to take part in the gifting of a beach were welcomed by local iwi. The site, in the northern Abel Tasman National Park, now belongs to all New Zealanders, after a crowdfunding campaign raised more than two million dollars to buy it.
