On Monday John Key said he is stepping down as Prime Minister and named Bill English as the best person to replace him.
By yesterday, ministers Jonathan Coleman and Judith Collins said they also want the job.
And Paula Bennett is refusing to rule out joining the race.
Labour says the leadership race has ripped the lid off simmering divisions within the party.
