St John says it's had enough and it won't now be sending its ambulance staff into dangerous situations.
About a third of the attacks were physical with up to 10 officers every month being hospitalised or requiring ongoing treatment for their injuries.
"I've been spat at, I've been punched, I've been bitten. We're getting threatened," says paramedic Roger Blume.
