US President Donald Trump has defended his controversial travel ban in a series of tweets overnight that also attacked his political opponents.
He said only 109 people out of 325,000 were detained and held for questioning at US airports over the weekend.
He blamed the ensuing chaos at those airports on protestors, political opponents and IT glitches.
"Big problems at airports were caused by Delta computer outage, protesters and the tears of Senator Schumer. Secretary Kelly said that all is going well with very few problems. MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN!
Critics should not be surprised by the move, he tweeted.
There is nothing nice about searching for terrorists before they can enter our country. This was a big part of my campaign. Study the world!
