Migrant parents contribute to New Zealand society

Last year the government shut the door to the parents of migrants because the Immigration Minister Michael Woodhouse said they were going on welfare and costing the taxpayer "tens of millions of dollars". But an official report shows fewer than one parent in fifty is collecting welfare payments.
