Filipino internet pirate granted permanent residence in NZ

A Filipino man who admitted to internet piracy in a multimillion-dollar United States lawsuit, has been granted permanent residency in New Zealand. Vonn Ryan Motomal, who came to Auckland as a student in 2013, says it was not a criminal conviction so he did not have to declare it.
