Residents in low-lying areas encouraged to leave Marton

Last night in Marton volunteers were door-knocking low lying homes urging people to leave as a precaution and the mayor of Rangitikei Andy Watson was expecting what could be a 1 in 200 year flood. But, this morning there is cautious relief as the mayor says it appears the worst didn't come.
