Beekeepers and iwi in Northland say they've been kept in the dark about the plant disease myrtle rust, which they say could devastate the region's honey industry.
But the Ministry for Primary Industries says it's doing all it can to spread the word about the yellow fungus.
The MPI's Geoff Gwyn says there are now two confirmed cases of myrtle rust - and a third suspected find in a nursery three kilometres away.
Mr Gwyn says the agency is trying hard to get the evidence out.
