Hundreds expected at Parihaka today for historic apology

After lengthy negotiations, the Parihaka Papakainga Trust agreed on a reconciliation package last month which culminate in the He Puanga Haeata ceremonies today. Hundreds of people are expected to gather at Parihaka in Taranaki today to hear the Crown formally apologise for atrocities committed when government troops sacked the village 1881.
