Greens call for a major boost to refugee intake
NZ currently accepts 750 refugees a year - that's set to rise to one thousand next year, but that still isn't enough to satisfy the Green party. Its co-leader James Shaw wants the intake boosted by several thousand. He wants the quota lifted to 4,000 a year if the Greens get into government; and he concedes a second resettlement centre would have to be built.
