'Foolish' to assume NZ buildings safe in a severe fire

In the wake of last month's devastating fatal Grenfell Tower fire in London, one top engineer here says so little is known about how high-rise buildings react in a severe fire, that it would be foolish to assume NZ buildings are all safe. That same engineer says fire engineering design for these buildings is still stuck in the 1970s - way behind earthquake engineering.
