Vanuatu volcano: 'We never thought this day would come'

An Auckland woman with family living on Vanuatu's Ambae Island says it's heartbreaking to see everyone being forced to evacuate their homes and communities. The Vanuatu government says all 11,000 Ambae island residents must be evacuated by next Friday following threats from the Manaro volcano. The volcano has been rumbling away for weeks. Lavinia Mahit's family lives on the western side of the island in a low-lying area.
