Fourth quarter blunder costs Silver Ferns Constellation Cup
The Australian Diamonds have won netball's Constellation Cup for the fifth year in a row with a convincing 55-43 win over New Zealand in the third test in Adelaide last night. It's Australia's third straight win over the Silver Ferns, following their victories in Auckland and Christchurch last week. Last night's match was a rollercoaster for both sides, by half-time Australia had an 11-goal lead but by the the end of the third quarter the Silver Ferns had clawed the deficit back to just four. Then in the fourth quarter, both teams made a myriad of changes and Australia regained their advantage, going on to win by 12 goals. Silver Ferns mid-courter Shannon Francois told RNZ's Matt Chatterton her side blew a golden opportunity to keep the series alive in the fourth quarter.
