Asteroid the size of a house flies over Antarctica

An asteroid the size of a house flew over Antarctica on Thursday night. More than a dozen observatories, universities and labs around the world were tracking the catchily named "2012 TC4" as it flew past. Dr Paul Chodas the manager of NASA's Centre for Near Earth Object Studies told me earlier that the fly-by provided them with the opportunity to test their asteroid-warning systems.
