Spain plans constitutional changes as protesters block roads
Spain's constitutional court has ruled the Catalan declaration of independence was "unconstitutional and void". But at the same time Spain's Foreign Minister has said his government is considering constitutional changes that would let regions hold legitimate independence referendums in the future. This comes as thousands of pro-indepence protesters in Catalonia have been blocking dozens of roads and some railway stations in the region. New York Times' Spain correspondent Raphael Minder tells us the changes are "clear as mud".
