Tiwai fire: More firefighters to help after overnight battle

More ground crews and aircraft are headed to Tiwai Point to battle a scrub fire covering up to 130 hectares that has been threatening the electricity lines that power the smelter. Firefighters have been working all night to protect the lines that deliver electricity there. Two helicopters, flown by pilots wearing night-vision goggles, have been fighting the fire overnight, along with six ground crews.
