A team of around 20 New Zealanders is expected to attend the Winter Olympics this year. The games kick-off in 16 days in the South Korean city of PyeongChang. New Zealand Chef de Mission Pete Wardell is in the Auckland studio discussing the challenges with Guyon Espiner.
"We've never been able to crack those podiums, but this time we're going to crack them," Mr Wardell says.
"Even the Dutch Chef de Mission said a little while ago to me that [NZ ice skaters] are likely to win one of his medals, which is quite something for the Dutch to say."
