A forensic pathologist is warning the New Zealand health community to learn from the American opioid crisis before it's too late. In an article published in the New Zealand Medical Journal, Dr Paul Morrow from Auckland City Hospital says data needs to be collected and analysed more quickly about suspected drug overdose deaths. That way the community is given an 'early warning' about a possible impending opioid death epidemic. Dr Morrow joins Guyon Espiner to discuss.
