Salvation Army foodbank demand surges in 2017
The Salvation Army says it handed out almost 63-thousand food parcels around the country last year - a 12 percent increase on 2016. But they're not the only organisation experiencing an increasing demand for food bank services. Helen Robinson from the Auckland City Mission says they're also seeing an increasing number of people coming through their doors each year. She told RNZ reporter Sarah Robson there's a wider range of people coming to them for help.
