Gita: Takaka supermarket says no need for panic

Tasman District Mayor Richard Kempthorne says Takaka and the surrounding area could take a year to recover from former cyclone Gita's devastation. But residents of the Golden Bay town have been more concerned with their immediate wellbeing and hygiene, emptying the local Fresh Choice supermarket of items like milk and toilet paper yesterday. Co-owner of the supermarket Mike Reynish has just opened the store for the day and is with us now.
