NZ Wars public holiday was promised by Labour - students

Students who successfully campaigned for a day of remembrance for the New Zealand Wars say Labour promised them a public holiday. The young campaign leaders, all former students at Otorohanga College brought many to tears when they spoke in Russell on Sunday at the inaugural national commemoration of the 19th century conflict between Maori and the Crown.
