Study finds gender gap in financial literacy

From Morning Report, 8:53 am on 28 March 2018

Young people are still learning about money from mum and dad. That's one of the takeaways from the Westpac-Massey Financial Education centre's 20-year longitudinal survey, which tracks a number of New Zealanders through adulthood. The study also found young men handle their cash better than young women. Westpac's Simon Power spoke to me earlier this morning - I started by asking him if it's a good thing that young people are learning financial literacy from their parents.
