Critics say Auckland's proposed rate hike won't be enough

Aucklanders are being asked to give up their demands for small rates rises to tackle some of the region's major long-standing problems. But critics say the new layers of rates - to target water quality and the environment and a new regional fuel tax - still won't be enough. The mayor Phil Goff says despite decades of underinvestment there's still a limit on what people will pay.
