David Liti 'outstanding athlete' of Commonwealth Games

New Zealand weightlifter David Liti has been recognised as the outstanding athlete of the Commonwealth Games at the closing ceremony. He was awarded the David Dixon Award, given out at each Commonwealth Games, which is based on an athletes performance at the event, fair play, and overall contribution to their team's participation at the Games. Last week Liti won gold and claimed a Commonwealth record in the men's 105kg+ division. He blew kisses to the crowd and invited his coach to the stage after his medal ceremony. Stephen Hewson caught up with him on the bus late on Sunday night.
