Second review launched into building product quality controls
The ministry in charge of construction standards has launched a review of building product quality controls - two years after its previous review resulted in no action whatsoever. That previous review was launched at the height of the steel mesh debacle. The steel case came to a head just last Friday at Auckland District Court, when the prosecution called for a fine of about $3 million against Steel and Tube for misleading consumers.
