The government is under fire for quietly scrapping health targets, in a move Opposition leader Simon Bridges says it outrageous and will lead to more illnesses and deaths. But Health Minister David Clark says the old targets have been dumped as they weren't fit for purpose and he's working on some new ones. "We believe they're actually leading to worse health outcomes overall for New Zealanders," Mr Clark tells Guyon Espiner. "They're not measuring outcomes, they're measuring activity."
