Clinton Thinn found guilty of murder in US prison
New Zealander Clinton Thinn has been found guilty of murdering his Californian prison cellmate. He was found guilty of first degree murder and faces a sentence of between twenty-five years to life. Thinn is the step-brother of National MP Nikki Kaye. He strangled his cellmate in late 2016 following his arrest for an attempted bank robbery. Neal Putnam is a reporter with The Star News in Chula Vista who's been covering the case. He says while the jury was split last time between first, second or third degree murder - this time the verdict was delivered after less than a day of deliberations.
