Waitematā health board doubles Māori workforce
The Waitematā District Health Board has doubled the number of Māori nurses in three years and is set to double its entire Māori workforce. Since 2015, the number of Māori staff members at the DHB has gone from 276 to 483 and it's not stopping there. They've launched a recruitment drive to fill 50 jobs with Māori nurses - but they say it is not "special treatment" of Māori. RNZ Māori news correspondent Leigh-Marama McLachlan reports.
