Goff supports fast-tracked developments, but with caution

Housing Minister Phil Twyford is planning to override Auckland Council's Unitary Plan in order to fast-track building more houses. His plan involves establishing a Urban Development Authority which would have planning and consenting powers over certain projects. Auckland Mayor Phil Goff tells Guyon Espiner he understands Phil Twyford's desire for a streamlined approach to developments but he's also in favour of individuals having the right to be heard.
