Misuse of vehicle immobilisers may bring charges
An employment lawyer is warning that employers could potentially face criminal charges if they misuse immobilisers in work vehicles. RNZ reported on Wednesday that a worker driving a company van in Marlborough said her boss remotely turned off her vehicle while she was going through a roundabout, leaving the immobilised van, and everyone in it, exposed to oncoming traffic. When she contacted her boss, he said he was concerned she was not following the right route to work, and that he had thought she was parked when he turned off the engine.
