Shark cage diver faces major loss after court ruling
A shark cage operator says he can't afford to walk away from the business despite the Court of Appeal ruling last week that the practise is illegal. It ended a long-running stoush between the Conservation Department, paua divers and shark tourism businesses with the main complaint being that the baiting of sharks was training them to associate humans with food. The founder of Shark Dive New Zealand Peter Scott says he, his crew and his customers have already paid for the season which begins in December and he wants answers.
