Tuberculosis rate eight times higher for Māori than Pākehā
Māori people are eight times more likely to get tuberculosis than Pākehā, international expert Philip Hill says. Up to half of older Māori people may carry the dormant TB infection which could become active at any time. New Zealand has low overall rates but experts say many older Māori won't know they have a dormant infection. RNZ Māori news correspondent Leigh-Marama McLachlan reports.
