Suicide prevention advocate slams Victoria University action
Victoria University is facing criticism after a first-year student was told to leave her hostel the day after she tried to commit suicide in October last year. The student, Dani, was asked to leave when she returned from hospital. The university says the hall manager was concerned for the safety of other students and did not believe the hall environment would be conducive to Dani's recovery. Corinda Taylor, whose son killed himself while at Otago University in 2012, is disgusted at the news. She is the Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust founder. She talks to Guyon Espiner.
