New international call for action on climate change
The leading international body of climate change researchers will today outline whether they think global temperatures can be kept from rising by more than 1.5 degrees this century. The report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is likely to be the most critical and controversial report on climate change in recent years. According to leaked drafts, the report finds that it would take a massive global effort, far more aggressive than any yet seen, to limit warming to just 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels.
