Lawyer backs proposed changes to Property Relationships Act
More now on the Law Commission's take on what should happen to a couple's assets when they split up. The commission has detailed eight proposals to change the Property Relationships Act that it will recommend to the government next year. They include a reinvention of the 50-50 split and income-sharing for a limited period of time for couples who had been together 10 years or more. And it recommends giving courts greater powers to share property held in trust. Joining Susie Ferguson is chair of Family Law at the Law Society, Kirsty Swadling
